초록
Facebook, the most popular Web 2.0 technology, provides educators with new possibilities for reaching their students. As this technology is new, there is not a total understanding of how this technology could best be used in college courses. This study reviews use cases of Facebook in college education and relevant learning theories. Then, it proposes a pedagogical framework for the class use of Facebook based on the social constructivist learning theory. A key component of the framework is the instructional design model for teaching with Facebook in a course. The goal of this study is to contribute to the literature of the theory and practice of the class use of Facebook by developing a pedagogical framework that can be applied by instructors for their own purpose. The proposed pedagogical framework provides a reference model to implement a variety of instructional strategies to promote social interaction and group learning through the use of Facebook, which are particularly critical in business and management courses.
