초록 1 본 연구에서는 이공계 대학생들의 진로준비상황을 파악하고, 진로결정의 속성요인의 도출을 통해 대학생들이 졸업 후 진로선택 시 중요시 하는 항목들을 살펴보고자 하였다. 또한 이공계 대학생들의 특성에 따른 진로방향과 진로결정요인 간의 어떠한 차이관계가 나타나는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 실증 연구를 위하여 450명의 이공계 대학생들에 대하여 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 분석결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 진로유형과 진로준비항목간의 관계에서는 이공계 대학생들의 경우에 다양한 진로유형과는 상관없이 전체적으로 전공 성적, 외국어 능력, 인턴십 참여를 중요하게 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 이공계 대학생들의 경우, 대학원 진학 및 취업 등의 진로유형의 선택에 영향을 미치는 특성변인으로 성별과 병역유무가 유의한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 남학생의 경우 대학원 진학으로의 빈도가 상대적으로 높게 나타나고 있으며, 남학생들의 진로방향과 병역간의 관련성에서는 군필자는 취업(35.0%)으로, 미필자의 경우는 대학원 진학(32.2%) 선택이 높게 나타나고 있다. 셋째, 이공계 대학생 특성에 따른 진로결정 요인의 차이분석결과는 성별과 희망진로유형에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다.
초록 2 The research objective of this paper is to investigate the career decision making process of the science and engineering college students. Particularly, we attempted to find out the important factors that influence the career preparation decisions by the 3rd year students in science and engineering colleges because the 3rd year is an important stage for career preparation process. A survey was conducted by using questionnaire on 450 students.
The results from the analysis show that the 3rd year college students consider three factors important in their career preparation process, and they are grade points average, foreign language capability and the internship experience. Also, it was found out that the two factors of gender and military service influenced the students' choice between employment and further study for graduate degrees. Those who finished military services tended to choose employment while the others without military services tended to choose advancement to graduate studies. Lastly, the gender turned out to be an important factor that caused the difference in career path selection behavior among the students.
