초록1 본 연구는 비상장 중소기업이 자금조달을 위한 이익조정 유인이 있는지 검증해 보고 그러한 관계에 담보제공 능력, 성장성이 미치는 영향을 검증하고자 한다. 비상장 중소기업의 경우 자금조달을 위한 이익조정 행위가 있을 가능성을 선행연구에서 제안하였는데(김정옥과 배길수,2008, 곽영민과 최종서, 2010) 이러한 연구들은 기업의 금융 관련 요인 즉, 담보제공 능력과 성장성에 대한 변수의 역할을 고려하지 못 하였다. 본 연구에서 담보제공 능력의 대체적 측정치인 유형자산 집중도가 높을수록 자금조달과 이익조정의 관계는 감소되는 것으로 나타났으며 또한 성장성 수준은 이러한 관계에 음(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
초록2 This study intends to confirm the relation between the unlisted small and medium-size companies’ raising fund and earings adjustment. It also tries to find out how the related financial factors, that are the ability of security provision, growth affects on them. I empirically compared and analyzed 7,161 unlisted small and medium-size firms with satisfaction the conditions over 2004-2010, results are summarized as following. Firstly, the bigger of the scale of additional borrowing loans is and the higher total loan ratio is, most companies have a tendency to make their profit adjustments upward. Secondly, when the level of tangible asset concentrativeness is high, it appeared that additional borrowing loan or total debt ratio has little relation with the profit adjustment deeds of companies. Thirdly, additional borrowing loans or total debt ratio influenced on the profit adjustment whether a company was in the growth ratio or not. In the case that a company has to high growth ratio leads to the reduction of profit adjustment deeds for the purpose of raising funds. I proposed that the level of dependence of main creditor bank which is a company’s financial character, whether the growth and the ability of security provision have important roles as inducement of company’s profit adjustment and financing variables.
