초록1 신사업의 추진 특징이 불확실성이며 유연성과 옵션가치는 불확실성에서 발생한다는 사실을 감안하면 투자가 진행되고 관리하는 과정에서 가장 유리한 사업전개 방향을 선택하는 활동이 사업의 성공과 이익 극대화 또는 손실최소화를 위해 더욱 가치 있는 활동이다. 이 논문은 그동안 신사업추진 과정에서 내재하는 옵션의 가치분석에만 초점을 두었던 리얼옵션기법을 신사업의 게이트리뷰(Gate Review)에 활용한 사례를 소개한다. 리얼옵션기법을 기업이 수행하는 투자관리절차 및 게이트리뷰에 활용한 결과 신사업관리를 더욱 효율화하고 유용한 시사점을 제공하는 것으로 나타났다. 전통적인 투자의사결정 방법이 단일 시나리오를 바탕으로 사업가치를 평가하는데 반해 리얼옵션은 다양한 상황을 통합하여 사업가치를 평가하는 보다 객관적인 평가방법이며 핵심 리스크를 중심으로 사업모델과 옵션에 대한 끊임없는 검토를 촉진하고 게이트리뷰 시점의 사전 설정과 주요 점검항목을 제시하는 효과적인 도구로 판명되었다. 또한 투자위험관리를 위해 사용하는 다양한 기법을 하나로 통합하여 관리하게 하는 효과적인 기법임을 확인하였다.
초록2 Uncertainty is a unique characteristics of strategic investment and most valuable opportunities come from with great deal of uncertainty. For this reason the real option approach has lead a growing focus on the valuing managerial flexibility in investment decision. It will be more valuable that managers are making contingent decisions utilize the opportunities depend on unfolding events than just evaluate flexibilities embeded the project. This paper is a case study of investment risk management using real option approach. The results show that it provide more efficient risk management and provide useful insights.And finally real option approach facilitate continuous review the key risk factors of project and explore new business model and options as well as prior notify the check period and issues in gate-review process. It can be integrate existing risk management tools using currently corporate practice used.
