초록1 본 연구는 매개효과분석을 사용하여 연구개발투자로 인한 매출액 증가가 기업가치를 높였는가를 검증하였다. 분석대상으로 코스피 상장기업뿐만 아니라 상대적으로 소규모면서 연구개발비율이 높은 코스닥 등록기업을 포함하였다. 본 연구의 주요 분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구개발투자가 기업가치와 매출성장률을 높이는 정(+)의 영향을 전체기업과 혁신형·비혁신형 기업에서 동일하게 발견하였다. 그러나 기업가치에 대한 매출액성장률의 매개효과는 혁신형·비혁신형 기업에서 차이가 있었다. 분석대상기업 중 혁신형기업에서 매개효과를 발견하였으나, 비혁신형기업에서는 10%의 통계적 유의수준 범위에서 매개효과를 확인할 수 없었다. 둘째, 혁신형 기업에서 기업규모와 기업가치의 유의적인 부(-)의 관계가 5%의 유의수준에서 확인되었다. 비혁신형 기업에서도 부(-)의 관계가 나타나지만 10%의 통계적 수준에서 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, 소규모기업에서 연구개발투자의 효과가 크게 나타나는 소규모기업효과는 표본기업 중 대규모기업이 아닌 소규모기업에서 발생하는 것으로 추정된다.
초록2 Technology innovation causes the increase of sales by bringing on the improvement of product's quality based on price. Thus it should increase firm values. But firm has to burden investment of its resources for technology innovation, and it requires too much money frequently. It is so important problem to firm because anyone can't forecast easily the effect of investment. This study examines the effect of technology innovation on a sales growth rate and the value of firms. Sample consists of firms listed on the security market of Korea Exchange and KOSDAQ from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2010 except financial firms. The results show that technology innovation has a positive effect on a sales growth rate and firm value. Also this study suggests that there is the significant mediation effect of a sales growth rate.
